Where are you located?

We are located at 200 Crawford st Queanbeyan in one of the oldest buildings in the Canberra region. There is on street carparking and a large carpark opposite, behind Homebase; entrance off Morriset or Lowe streets.

We’re a local, family and veteran-owned café passionate about creating freshly made, handcrafted cakes and desserts in small batches using premium ingredients. Alongside our cakes, we’re proud to serve some of the region’s best coffee and award-winning breakfasts, all delivered with friendly country hospitality and a welcoming small-town atmosphere.

We’re one of the few remaining traditional Cake Shops in the Canberra and Queanbeyan region, where cakes are still made from scratch. Every cake is freshly baked, filled, assembled and hand-finished on-site by our skilled bakers and cake decorators using premium ingredients. We bake in small batches each day to ensure exceptional freshness and quality, so we recommend ordering early or arriving early to avoid disappointment.

Most of our cakes will stay fresh for up to 10 days when stored correctly, although this can vary depending on the cake. If you’re unsure, we’re happy to provide specific storage advice on collection
Cheesecakes, tortes and fresh cream cakes should be refrigerated after collection or delivery. Some custom cakes, particularly those covered in fondant or buttercream, may be stored at room temperature in a cool, dry place.
For the best flavour and texture, mud cakes are best enjoyed at room temperature, so we recommend removing them from the fridge about one hour before serving

Yes. Most of our cakes freeze well and can be enjoyed later. For best results, wrap the cake (or individual slices) tightly in plastic wrap and place it in an airtight container or freezer bag before freezing.
While freezing helps preserve freshness, it may slightly alter the texture of some cakes, particularly those containing fresh cream or delicate fillings. For the best quality, thaw your cake overnight in the refrigerator or at room temperature before serving.
Freezing individual slices is a great option, allowing you to enjoy a piece whenever you like without thawing the entire cake.
Frozen Cold Set Cheesecake slices are a great option in summer and taste great!!

You can order via our website by hitting the order button and selecting you cake or product for collection or delivery. This is best for standard and standard cakes with writing. Or call us on 62997707. For custom cake orders it is preferred that use either the ordering form from the drop down box under cakes or send us an email at cakesbyciao@gmail.com so that we can understand what you are after and provide a quote.

We prefer 7 days notice due to bookings and to avoid disappointment. Please allow 24-48 hrs notice for initial response/quote

You sure can. We have a selection of freshly made cakes daily. They are in limited numbers though, so the earlier you get in on the day the better. It is best to call the store or hit the order button on the website and search for your desired cake

Most of the time yes, although if it is a custom cake that has entered production it will depend. Best to call the store.

We sure can and do this very often. Whether it’s a large slab cake or cupcakes we can take care of this for you.

We have one of the largest rangest of dietray cake products in the region. We cater to most needs. Please give us a call or email to discuss your needs. It is best to pre order these. We have:
*Gluten Free cakes, desserts, sandwiches & hot food
*Eggless. Our Eggless Cake recipes are well known in the region to cater for allergies and religious requirements. They are freshly made like the other cakes.
*Vegan. We have a range of vegan cakes including buttercream – all our butter cream is in fact vegan friendly! We can also cater for vegan friendly meals for catering
*Nutfree. We can cater for nutfree and do so regulalry but please be advsied that we do have nuts on the premises and while every attempt is made to ensure there is no cross contamination that cannot be guarenteed.
*Halal. We make cheesecakes and cakes that are halal just from the premium ingredients we use. For example we use no gelatin in our chesecakes – just good old fashioned real ingredients.

We accept major credit cards, eftpos, cash and for custom orders, bank transfer.

Yes you can but there is a small card surcharge of 2.31%?

Yes we deliver across the Canberra region, Queanbeyan, Jerramoberra, Googong and surrounds.

Yes ,we do orders from interstate and even overseas customers. We can deliver all over Canberra, whether its outer Belconnen, Gungahlin or south side to Tuggeranong. Call us to request a quote and you’ll find the delivery cost reasonable

Yes we do and do this regulalry. Some of the wedding cakes require setting up at the reception. We have even delivered to Yass on occasions!

We deliver all over the Canberra and Queanbeyan region.You can request a time and where possible will be able to meet it unless there are competing deliveries but this can be discussed. We will always attempt to meet your time requested.

Yes, we do where possible, although some places are limited with parking/loading zones but generally we can find a solution as we do a lot of corporate deliveries
